Ever wondered what it’s like to dive into a script with fellow theatre lovers? A table read is a relaxed, collaborative gathering where we read a play aloud—no staging, no memorizing, just voices, characters, and shared discovery. Whether you're considering auditioning, curious about crew roles, or simply love the rhythm of live play reading, you're warmly invited to join us.

At this Table Read, we’ll explore Ron Hutchinson’s fast-paced comedy Moonlight and Magnolias, a behind-the-scenes romp through Hollywood history. The year is 1939, and producer David O. Selznick has shut down production on Gone with the Wind. With only five days to rewrite the script, he locks himself in a room with screenwriter Ben Hecht and director Victor Fleming—armed with peanuts, bananas, and boundless ambition. What follows is a hilarious, high-stakes marathon of creativity, chaos, and clashing egos.

Roles Available: • 3 Men • 1 Woman

Parts will be shared among attendees, with opportunities to rotate and read different characters. No pressure, just a relaxed opportunity to read, connect, and bring the story to life together. Just listening to others read is also an option. Like we said, there’s no pressure.
