Denise Steele
Board Member at Large
Denise Steele brings a lifelong passion for community theatre to her role on the Tellico
Community Theatre Board of Directors. Drawn to the way people with diverse talents
come together to realize a shared vision, she finds theatre’s collaborative spirit both
inspiring and sustaining. As a member-at-large of the Board of Directors, she is
presently serving as Program Manager for the theatre’s newly designed operating
system. Denise is committed to strengthening communication, simplifying operations,
and fostering unity across the team so the theatre can continue to thrive.
Her theatre work spans both technical and creative roles. Denise has designed sound
for productions such as Fireflies and, in her first acting experience, created the
memorable character Miss Poppinghul in Moonlight & Magnolias. Those moments
reflect her curiosity and willingness to explore new realms of theatre arts, whether
behind the scenes or onstage.
Beyond productions, Denise sees the theatre as a family that teaches new skills,
encourages growth, and creates joyful shared experiences for audiences and
participants alike. Her goal is to help TCP deepen its impact on the community by
making it easier for volunteers and artists to collaborate and create.
Outside the theatre, Denise leads sound at her church and enjoys reading, gardening,
and music. She is also a trained and certified nutritional life coach and energy healer
with a Tai Chi–style practice. Always ready to expand her creative horizons, Denise
hopes to try directing in the future, bringing her technical ability and collaborative spirit
to new leadership onstage.
