Jim Smith joined the Tellico Community Players Board of Directors in 2023, bringing a wealth of experience in sales and management to his role as Business Manager. His journey into community theatre began with the Prime Time Players, an outreach program for young students, where he discovered the power of live performance to inspire and engage. One of his most memorable moments was portraying the Big Bad Wolf in a readers’ theatre adaptation, captivating children with a fresh perspective on the classic tale.
Beyond managing the financial health of the theatre, Jim is committed to keeping the organization thriving and growing while enhancing the experience for audiences. He takes pride in the Prime Time Players’ impact, fostering a love for reading among thousands of children by bringing books to life on stage and donating copies to school libraries.
Outside of the theatre, Jim and his wife, Sharon, are avid travelers, having explored destinations across the globe. If he could step into any role, it would be George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life—a fitting choice for someone who believes in the profound joy of community and storytelling.
